OFFICER'S SWORD KNOT

An officer's sword knot is worn only with an army officer's or navy officer's sword. The air force officer's dagger is worn without a sword knot.

An officer's sword is always worn with a sword knot regardless of the ceremonial uniform. The sword knot is wrapped around the handle of the sword in such a way that the tassel remains hanging but does not interfere with the use of the sword.

The sword knot consists of a gold ribbon and a tassel which is made of the same colored cord. The ribbon and tassel are decorated with black longitudinal stripes.
